Addison Art Guild

In 1976, the Addison Art Guild was formed for the purpose of furnishing the community of Addison, IL, and the surrounding area with an institution that would advance the development of the fine arts as an integral part of community life.

The Addison Art Guild is 48 years old and welcomes new members, visitors and supporters of the visual arts to join.
The AAG meets on the second Thursday of every month from September through May at 7:30 p.m. in rooms 1301 A & B at Addison Village Hall, located at One Friendship Plaza, Addison, IL, 60101. At 7:00 p.m., the meeting/program begins, featuring a lecture, demonstration or workshop by a professional artist. Workshops are scheduled throughout the year, and there are juried members' exhibits in the fall and spring.

Schedule of 2022 Meetings/Programs

March 10 | Watercolor Demonstration with Dan Danielson

Schedule of 2022 Workshops

Saturday April 30, 9:30 – 3:30 with a lunch Break. Watercolor workshop by David Becker. Bring a friend. Addison Park District, 120 East Oak Street, Addison.
David will be teaching watercolor from beginning to end; starting with how to take total control of the medium, leading to a well-composed watercolor. Subject matter will be supplied. David’s teaching method takes all students on a paint-a-long style of teaching while trying a variety of different surfaces and techniques. This class is designed to benefit all levels of painters. Teaching students to conquer the medium of watercolor is David’s goal and he takes great pride in making sure every student leaves with the ability to control the paint while trying all sorts of new materials.

Since 1979, David has spent all of his artistic life and career in the city of Chicago. After studying at The American Academy of Art in Chicago, Becker went into illustrating for a major advertising agency J. Walter Thompson and later for Foote Cone and Belding. He also started teaching around the country, right out of school, but always found time for his favorite ambition, creating fine art paintings.

David is the author of  Watercolor Composition Made Easy , and  How to Sketch with Watercolor. He has had two
different articles published in  International Artist Magazine and in Watercolor Magic. David Becker has reached
signature status in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America , and has won numerous awards for his work
from watercolor societies around the country.
